Cappry Rovers U12 girls have created history for their club when they won the 2023/24 SFAI Ulster cup. This young team is only playing together for 2 years so this is great achievement for them. The girls paraded their trophy at Finn Park at the game against Athlone Town.
Most of the girls involved in this team were part of the U12 team who won the Donegal Women’s League in 2023. Their Ulster Cup journey started against Ballyhaise Celtic with the girls earning a convincing 4-0 victory. They then encountered one of their toughest tests coming up against Keadue Rovers with the Cappry girls winning 2-1. Their Ulster Final opponents were Cootehill Harps from Cavan. Our girls dominated from start to finish and won 4-0. Onto the national stages for these girls and Dublin opposition awaited. The girls won 2-0. In the last 16 it was more Dublin opposition, this time in Dublin and our girls battled hard and came away with a 1-0 win.
Our history makers now face their toughest test yet when Peamount United make the trip to Donegal to take on our young girls.
Everyone at Cappry Rovers are very proud of these girls and wish them the best of luck in their All Ireland Quarter Final.
