Preview: Finn Harps v UCD

It’s second vs third at Finn Park this Friday as we welcome UCD on Friday Evening. Note the earlier kick-off time of 5pm due to floodlights failing a systems test on Wednesday, further emphasising the importance of a new stadium for the survival of the club.

Harps go into the clash looking to build from back-to-back wins over the Easter weekend which saw Murph’s men move up to second in the table, one point behind league leaders Cork City.

Murph told club media: “So far the players have been magnificent in all eight games that they have played and I am hoping they can continue that form in the ninth game. It will be an extremely tough occasion but to be sitting with seventeen points on the board after eight games is a magnificent achievement by everyone involved. Obviously the main group involved is the players and they deserve an immense amount of credit. The challenge to the players is to see if they can keep it going, to keep raising expectations and to see if they can push on and keep achieving.

As always, come out and support the boys, be loud, be proud and hopefully we will be competitive this week once again.”
