Large crowd at Open Training Session as Fans Eager to see new look Harps

There was an electric atmosphere at Finn Park a full week before the club’s opening League Of Ireland match of 2023 as over 200 supporters attended an Open Training session last Friday night.  New Gaffer Dave Rogers invited the Club’s Season Ticket holders and 500 Club members to get their first look at his exciting young charges in action as he put them through their final paces, and with the legendary Finn Park tea ladies also making an early return to dish out complimentary hot chocolate, the buzz around the old ground was palpable.

The new look squad were put through a high intensity session by Dave, his assistant Darren Murphy and the coaching staff and after cheering on the goals, saves and near misses during the final drills and shooting practice, there was time for a meet and greet and some autographs for the large number of young supporters in attendance.

New manager Dave Rogers addressed the crowd briefly to thank both the 500 Club members whose financial support is so vital to everything at the club, and the Season Ticket holders who have backed his side in record numbers ahead of the new season.  And the Gaffer even took time out to deliver a birthday cake to a Shea Catterson from Dromore, Letterkenny who was spending his 9th birthday watching his heroes prepare for the new campaign!

The first home game of the season takes place this Friday (17th February) vs Galway United at Finn Park with an 8:00pm kickoff.  With almost 820 season tickets sold already (almost 100 more than the previous club record from 2022) both season tickets and match night tickets for the Galway game are on sale now at https://finnharps.ie/tickets/

Supporters are asked to please buy online if possible, to avoid congestion on the night and ease pressure on our matchnight volunteers, while cash sales will also be available on the night as usual at the Chestnut Road entrance.
