Patton was named in the starting XI while McLaughlin came off the bench, making an immediate impact by winning a penalty.
On the 7th Ireland took on Kazakhstan with McLaughlin starting and notching an assist for Ireland’s final goal in a 3-1 win. Patton played the final 20 minutes of that game.
On September 10th Ireland faced Slovenia and drew 1-1, McLaughlin played the last half hour while Patton came on for the final 15 minutes, both making a good impact.
