Tonight’s flag bearers are from the U8 and U10 age groups from Lifford Celtic FC. The club was formed in 1950 and currently have teams from u6 all the way up to seniors.
There are 100+ kids throughout the various age groups and from various ethical backgrounds helped by a dedicated band of volunteers that give up their time each week to help these kids on their football journey.
Lifford Celtic FC have produced arguably Ireland’s greatest ever goalkeeper Shay Given and currently have players on or on the fringes of several representative squads.
The club continues to go from strength to strength and it’s great for a small section of these young kids to be present at Finn Park tonight.
Layla McNulty from Victoria Bridge is 2 years old. She loves coming to Finn Park to watch Harps with her mummy. She is football mad and loves kicking a football with her brothers.
Shane Rainey, our mascot for Harps v Longford, is 9 years old and is a big Harps fan. He started going to games after the lockdown with his Grandad Victor and now regularly attends matches on Friday nights as a season ticket holder. Shane is excited to be mascot and can’t wait to meet the players!
