Denis O’Neill Memorial Cup: Finn Harps Fans Game This Saturday At Finn Park

This coming Saturday 13th July sees the return of the hugely popular Denis O’Neill Memorial Cup – ‘Clash of the Fans’, to Finn Park, incorporating live entertainment, kids entertainment, family fun day, Kinnegar Brewing bar, special guest players, and after match refreshments in McKelveys Bar with a raffle to further whet the appetite!

Local boxing champ Jason Quigley is one of the headline special guests of the event, alongside former Harps players Shane Bradley, Mark Forker and Chris Breen, referee for the game Harps legend Con McLaughlin, and rising podcast stars Vinny McLaughlin and Marty Brogan from V&M Podcast, as well as the first team coaching staff, led by Harps manager Darren Murphy.

Fans of the club from rival sides of the ground, the shed crew versus FBTN (From Behind The Nets) make up the rest of the two teams for the event, which has been running since 2018, proving a popular day out for Harps fans and families, as well as an important fundraiser for the club during a tough stretch of upcoming away games in July.

The match has been kindly sponsored by Kinnegar Brewing and McKelveys Bar, with a Kinnegar Bar set up in Finn Park for the days activities, and the entertainment ongoing into the wee hours in McKelveys Bar, with more live music, refreshments and food, and a raffle with prizes sponsored by various businesses in the area.

There will be the finest of local burgers sponsored by McConnell Meats and DL Burger in the ground who have come on board to take over the regular BBQ spot for match day, and resident Harps DJ, and head of womens academy, Paddy McDaid will be on music and live commentary duty for the match.

The organisers and all at Finn Harps FC would like to thank all the sponsors who have put forward raffle prizes for the post match celebrations, including Don Maguire Fitness, Crown Paints Letterkenny, Beauty Secrets Beauticians Ballybofey, Navenny Grill, Motorparts Strabane, and Kavanaghs Supervalu Ballybofey.

Post match will see the trophy presented on the pitch, as well as the highly coveted man of the match cup for best fans player, presented by the O’Neill family, with previous winners including Trevor Gordon, Don Maguire, Bobby Bradley and Oisín Merritt.

The gates will be open from 3:15pm with the match kicking off at 4pm. Entry is just €5 for adults, kids go free.
