Harps were represented by 3 sides at the Craigavon Cup last weekend.
Our 2014 Development Squad were triumphant at the Craigavon Cup on Saturday as they won the Shield Competition. They progressed through the group stage with superb wins over Limavady Utd, Culmore and Greenisland, losing out only to Crusaders before beating Lurgan Town in the semi finals. A shootout victory over Ballymena Utd clinched the trophy!
The Harps 2013s were involved in a lot of close games, losing out to Cork PDA and Crumlin United as well as the Inishowen Academy. They beat Portadown in the other game.
Our 2012s narrowly missed out on a spot in the final of the Craigavon Cup as they bowed out to Newell in the semi final after a tense penalty shootout. Earlier in the competition the side had produced some exceptional performances including beating Glentoran and TFA Limerick.
Ben McLaughlin was the 2012s player of the tournament after a couple of incredible performances while Shea McLaughlin and Ciaran O’Connor both were finding the net with regularity sharing the top goalscorer.
Well done to all the Harps players, coaches and parents for representing the club with distinction. Well done also to all the schoolboy clubs for developing the players.
